What Happened?
Greece ran up massive government deficits ($387 billion), they can't pay the interest on federal bonds, the European Union wants them out, and the IMF is rushing a $142 billion bailout. The trouble is the unemployment is 19%, and the IMF wants drastic cutbacks.
The euro sank, dipping below $1.29 for the first time in over a year, on fears of crisis contagion and concerns that political upheaval might keep Greece from keeping its end of the bailout bargain.
3 die in Athens riot over cutbacks, debt crisis
Three bank workers — a man and two women all aged between 32 and 36 — died of smoke inhalation after demonstrators torched their bank, trapping them. As their colleagues sobbed in the street, four others were rescued from a balcony. 4
Goldman Sachs Involved
"There was only one other solution — for the country to default, taking the citizenry with it. And that would not have affected the rich, it would have affected workers and pensioners," Papandreou said. "That was a real possibility, however nightmarish." Greece goes through a 1929 depression and naturally the Zionists buy everything for pennies.
Role of speculators
Speculators and hedge funds engaged in selling Euros have also been accused by both the Spanish and Greek Prime Ministers of worsening the crisis.
The role of Goldman Sachs in the Greek bond 'crisis' is also under scrutiny. It is not yet clear to what extent this bank has been involved in the unfolding of the crisis or if they have made a profit as a result of the sell-off on the Greek government debt market. 5
Who Hold's The Greek Debt
Greece issued $380 billion in treasury debt, and someone is holding those bonds. So this crisis can snowball. Hedge funds bought the debt, it was repackaged an sold to pension funds. 20% are Greek pensioners and 80% are foreign.
20% unemployment! The private sector is dead except for the underground, tax evading economy. If you work for a bank your liable to be killed by your fellow Greeks! Bribery and extortion a way of life in Greece! Once referred to as, "The cradle of Civilization", Greece, has devolved into a hedonistic, pleasure seeking society, where drugs, liquor, tobacco and promiscuous sex are all that concerns the average Greek. Above all else, evade all taxes and blame the bankers and your parliament for your plight of indebtedness, joblessness and violence that leads to murder! Fuck austerity, lets borrow more..., I WANT MORE!
